So. This world is crazy and despair-inducing a really horrible percentage of the time.

And I always feel lucky that, in the midst of all of it, I know all of you. You're what I'm grateful for, as usual, even though I don't always say it. You guys are my daily hope, basically. So thank you all for existing and then for sharing that existence with me in such lovely comments. You are delights and you make me smile and I'd probably write all these stories anyway, but I especially love to be able to get to share them with you. I frequently think, "Eep! I can't wait to see what everyone thinks about [a particular thing I write]!" You just make it all so much fun.

(I wish there was a way to send a message to everyone on AO3, but I'll have to hope you AO3'ers see this somewhere.)

Just as Santa finishes up the Thanksgiving Day parade, I figured I'd finish up this Thanksgiving post with a Santa reference. (Not the Advent drabble prompt post. That'll be tomorrow.) But I thought it'd be fun if we did Fandom Wish Lists for Santa. Here's what's on my Fandom Wish List:

  • I want Martin Freeman's SNL to be awesome.

  • And maybe to have a skit that's entirely him doing reaction shots a la UK Office.

  • I want Benedict to grow his hair back out to Sherlock style because, well, Sherlock shooting!

  • I want a Christmas special next year that's old-school, and by that I don't mean the costuming, by that I mean "about John and Sherlock and not about the Watson family with Sherlock hovering on the side."

  • I want "The Imitation Game" not to make me cry too, too, too much.

  • I want every single glorious AU in every single fandom to be magically updated with more fantabulous words every time I sit down to read some fic.

  • I want as much schmoopy Christmas fanart as the marvelous fanartists wish to give me.

  • I want Joseph Gordon-Levitt to keep being awesome.

  • And maybe shoot a movie in Mississippi.

  • While I'm there.

  • But not in a creepy way.

  • I swear.

  • I want people--especially people interviewing Benedict and Benedict in reply--to stop talking about fans like we're all silly fools.

  • In fact, what I really want is someone interviewing Benedict to say, "Hey, you know, some of these fans have really awesome, interesting, deep thoughts!" and have Benedict say in reply, "It's true, I respect the point of view that they bring, especially considering how little mainstream society pays attention to a lot of the perspectives."
