Matt, unlike Rose, had plenty of time to think about how they would live and what they would do if Athena ever became his. So he's long ago made peace with Athena's long lifespan and the husbands that will come after him. That's one thing I like about him: he's relatively unflappable at this point (although people bleeding out on his floor do induce an appropriate sense of urgency!)
I imagine he does a lot of studying of Gallifreyan medicine and medical equipment (via the library or perhaps taking instruction from the Doctor) so he can tend to Athena and his descendants. If anybody in what is now *his family* is injured again, he wants to be able to care for them without everything depending on whether the Doctor can get there.
I still half-suspect that the Master will have some interaction with Fortuna. She's sunny, angst-free, a bit naive, pretty, blonde, and a Time Lord, and it would make the Doctor apoplectic.
