Moving companies, on the whole, are crap about the money, because they know very well that they have you at the throat once your stuff is in their truck. You're stressed, you're tired, you're in a new place with new people and new situations, and they are the only thing standing between you and recognizable civility (a.k.a, your stuff). So of course they'll make you pay through the nose, for the simple reason that they CAN. And everyone does.

Not everyone has the energy to fight them. Good job for doing that, at least.

(I will say, the moving companies we've used for the overseas moves have been pretty good. But I also don't see the invoices, so God knows what they're actually charging.....)
