I definitely buy Rose forgiving the Doctor. I mean - she has to, doesn’t she? I think she took the right amount of time. I am not sure he groveled enough, or we got to see him tortured with fear for her leaving him - because she absolutely could have left him. But I still love it. I think you more than make up for it in later stories in the series, where he is very tortured and very angsty and very dark, and I think with him losing Rose and everything that happens between them - I think as a whole - this is perfect. As a stand-alone, I could have seen more angst. But in looking at the series as a whole, I think it’s perfect. The perfect amount of angst, the perfect amount of buildup. The perfect amount of forgiveness and moving on. And lastly, the perfect amount of giving the series a concrete basis for their relationship. Because before this, they were just shagging and having adventures. And from this point on - they are truly a one-of-a-kind, in that forever kind of way, cemented couple.
