Advent Drabble 22 - Turkey (requested by anonymous)
“See this?” John indicated the turkey.
Oliver and Sherlock looked at it.
“This is turkey. For dinner. Not for experiments.” These things had to be explicitly said.
“You expect us to eat something that looks like a comical little fat person?” asked Oliver.
“No, I never expect the two of you to eat anything.”
“I don’t think I like turkey,” decided Oliver.
“You don’t like anything but biscuits. I blame that on your father.”
“He has good taste,” said Sherlock, mildly.
John repeated, “Don’t touch this,” before leaving.
“We should dress it up like your uncle Mycroft,” Sherlock told Oliver.

(But you will eat some of the something that looks like a comical little fat person that you don't think you like, because it will make Papa happy.)
(Even if you and your Dad do dress it up like Uncle Mycroft first.)

It's lovely to think of Sherlock belatedly having the playfully mischievous childhood he should have had! (And John will actually be exceedingly amused by their excellent Mycroft-turkey costume--complete with umbrella.)
