Yay for My Family
Sep. 16th, 2007 06:18 pm Perhaps suspecting an impending nervous breakdown from the events of Friday, my lovely mother, father, and grandmother all drove up here today to clean the apartment while I worked, which was SO nice of them. They are really the best. It was nice to have a bit of company around. I was antisocial out of necessity all weekend (before you get offended, e-mails and IMs don't really count), and it was nice to have people around for a while. And, as per usual, they were hilarious. Actual conversations we had today:
Then, once they left, I went to the store to buy a converter for Portugal and also batteries for my smoke detectors. I came back to try to finish up this terribly annoying project, which really doesn't take my attention but is SO time-consuming. So, to keep me company, I watched Blackpool, which was better than I remembered it (yes, Colleen, again). I don't know how I'd forgotten how fabulous a creation Peter Carlisle is. I mean, I don't think I had, and then I watched him again and was struck anew by it. And then I watched Graham Norton again (yes, also even better than I remembered). And then I did a skim re-watch of "Tooth and Claw," "School Reunion," and "The Girl in the Fireplace." Was Season 2 of Doctor Who the best $60 I ever spent? Yeah. I think so.
And I am still working on this project. Gah.
( Vignettes. )
