When Patrick was telling himself stories when he still lived at his parents’ house and thought nothing interesting would ever happen to him, those stories always ended with happily ever after. And Patrick used to imagine to himself what happiness might be. He knows now he imagined poorly. He could never have imagined, for instance, music accurately. He could never imagine warm baths. He could never even imagine what the world looked like, because he didn’t have glasses then. But of all the things he’s learned, mostly what he’s learned is that happiness is a purring cat-person tucked beside you.

It's the last day of happiness, and today I'm happy that this was so much easier to do this year than last year. That seems like moving in the right direction.

To those that celebrate it: Happy Easter!

45: Another mini-break! These should happen every other week, I feel.
46: A full day of lazing on the beach. (And enjoying the new Doctor Who.)

Kristin coming to visit!!

Good food in a fancy restaurant. Mmmmm, I love it. God, I have expensive taste...

It was Opening Day of baseball at Fenway. There is a way in which Boston doesn't feel like Boston when it's not baseball season. I had a terrible off-season, and now baseball is beginning, and maybe all things will start falling into place...

Another interview tomorrow! I actually think I would really like this job, so wish me lots of luck!

Gorgeous weather. And open houses!

38: Top Gear in Vietnam. Best. Thing. Ever.
39: First birthday parties. So fun!

I was dreading work this morning. I thought I was going to have to take this case I really didn't want to take. And then, just as I had decided to stand up to go to tell the partners I would take the case...a partner I love walked in with a much, much better case, and I got to take that one instead. It was so awesome.

30: Going to Florida! Without any flight shenanigans, either!
31: Reading an issue of "The New Yorker," cover to cover, for the first time in literally months. Sigh. I miss that magazine. Time to resubscribe.
32: The Red Sox winning their spring training game. I am so, so ready for baseball to start. Just the *sound* of a baseball game makes me feel all giddy inside.
33: Not getting violently ill on the plane ride home. And getting home on Sunday instead of being stranded in LaGuardia on Monday.
34: Nathan and Claire being a completely inappropriately entertaining pair on "Heroes."
35: Breakfast for dinner!
36: Randomly running into fellow British TV lovers.

Yay! Leaving for Florida tomorrow! (I should probably pack, huh...?)

My rocking chair. I love this thing.

25: Pleasant nights spent with family.

26: "Dollhouse" FINALLY becoming watchable.

Stumbling upon a good movie. I almost never watch movies--Kristin mocks me for it--but suddenly my cable provides me with the Independent Film Channel, which tonight played "24 Hour Party People," and I'd forgotten how pleasant it can be to just sit and watch a really good movie.

Restaurant Week. Even if I'm so full now, I could die.

I have a dentist appointment this morning! I'm probably the only person in the world who classifies this as happy, but (1) IT MEANS I'M NOT AT WORK RIGHT NOW YAY; and (2) I'm hoping they can tell me what I need to do to get my jaw to stop hurting on an almost 24/7 basis (actually, it's a 24/5 basis, so do we think that my job probably has something to do with my jaw? COULD THAT BE POSSIBLY BE?).

Oops. Fell way behind.

19: Afternoon tea with friends. Indulgent afternoon tea. At a hotel. With yummy scones and way too many sandwiches and way too much delicious tea. Even if the port tasted like cough medicine.

20: New Gossip Girl! Ah, Chuck Bass, never leave me again.

21: Having my laptop back! Yay! And even driving out to get it in the middle of nowhere wasn't so bad, because it was a section of Boston I don't usually go to, and the skyline just looked so gorgeous driving back, in the twilight.

David Tennant hosting Comic Relief. Do I really need to say more than that?

Jerry Remy. Oh, how I've missed him!
