The Interpretation of Dreams
Feb. 4th, 2009 10:23 pmI sometimes, when I am not depressed, have very vivid dreams. Dreams with characters and plot and everything. I sometimes turn these dreams into stories. And sometimes I just relate them to my friends for their amusement (why, yes, I think everything about me is ENDLESS entertainment). Last night's dream went thusly:
( No. Really. ENDLESS Entertainment. )
The fact that you go out there in a precarious boat, recognize the stupidity of the situation, and rescue yourself and your belongings then head to shore, I think is a good sign. Then when you see that the whale has won and your husband is dying and you are happy, I don't know, dude, it sounds like you have reached a somewhat healthy level of detachment there. You have what you need and you are ready to move on to healthier life excercises.
Actually, arctacuda has pointed out to me before that I am frequently fighting huge beasts in my dreams. I've dreamt of whales before, and once I dreamt of a huge troll. I should keep track of such things in a dream notebook...

Let us also suppose that your husband represents either the people in charge at work or the part of you that thinks you have to stay--this person is behaving stupidly, throwing everything they have away on this horrible beast that can't be beaten and dragging others down with him.
