Back from my business trip (thanks for the good wishes!), here is yesterday's drabble:

They almost never went to planets where they couldn’t breathe the atmosphere, because Rose disliked spacesuits, but eventually they came to an airless planet that the Doctor looked so eager to explore that Rose told him he should. He practically bounced to the wardrobe and came back in an orange spacesuit that looked familiar to Rose.

“Hang on.” She stopped him before he could bound past her, studying the “SB6” on the badge. “Is this…?”

“Oh.” He looked down sheepishly. “Yeah. I…Call it a keepsake.”

“You sentimental sweetheart,” she said, and kissed him.

The Doctor never did explore the planet.

The drabble will be late tomorrow, too, but this time for a good reason: God willing, I am going, believe it or not, to the Nutcracker. So isn't this perfectly timed?

The girls took ballet lessons, fascinated by the pink tutus. For a little while, they went plieing and pirouetting all through the TARDIS. Jackie, during a visit, pointed out that it was nearly Christmas and they ought to see The Nutcracker, which the girls hopped up and down begging for. The Doctor acquiesced, getting them a box to a performance by the Moscow ballet in the twenty-fourth century.

Rose spent the performance snuggled against him, whispering the lovely things she was going to do to him once they got back to the TARDIS. He’d never enjoyed the ballet so much.
