Lent--Day 16
Mar. 24th, 2011 09:27 pmThe Internet. Guys, the Internet is amazing. Let us count the ways.
First, the Internet is where I met all of you, and you are all wonderful. Your comments and posts always brighten my day, and I am able to ask questions ranging from "What's the deal with comment notifications?" to "Should I go see Frankenstein?" to "Which of these people are most beautiful?" and you all provide the most fantastic, helpful answers. I have an amazing network of people here, for which I am grateful every day, and all of which is due to the Internet.

Second, the Internet has fanfiction, which was the medium through which I met so many of you. And I love that the Internet makes it easy to be as fabulously creative as we all are, for us to be able to get exposure to things that we would never be able to find otherwise. Last night I stayed up way past my bedtime reading a fic in which Andrew Garfield and Jesse Eisenberg are taking care of a baby. Now, I know, that sounds completely random, and it totally is. I'm not really an RPF person generally, and I know next to nothing about Andrew Garfield and Jesse Eisenberg. Well, other than knowing that I both think Andrew Garfield's hot and think he looks like Brem, which makes my relationship with Andrew Garfield extremely convoluted. But the fic came highly recommended, so I clicked the link, and ended up getting to read the best novel I've read in a very long time. And it is a novel that I would never have found had it not been for this amazing invention of the Internet.
And, third, having read this fic, I was like, "What's the deal with Andrew Garfield and Jesse Eisenberg?" Kristin, who is the source of all knowledge (and who I met on the Internet), was like, "Oh, yeah, they're pretty adorable in interviews together." So then I had to stalk them, which was easily accomplished through YouTube. Another thing to love the Internet for: it makes it easier to find clips that you would otherwise have never seen, ever, because you weren't lucky enough to see them when they originally aired.
