Lent--Day 8

Sunshine! We'd been, as my mother would put it, stuck in a cloud here recently. (My mother's theory of weather is that there are too many hills and trees in New England, so the bad weather gets caught in them and lingers, as opposed to rolling out quickly the way it can in flat Florida. My mother is a lunatic, and I adore her.) Anyway, today the clouds rolled away, and it was bright sunshine, and it's astonishing the difference it still makes in my mood, even though I'm not as depressed as I used to be in the clouds, and even though it's never cold here. Sunshine!

(Runner-up: "The Voice." I am right now watching Christina duet with her last contestant on the stage, and I adore this show. The judges are so adorable on this show, I can't stand it.)
