Mycroft had spent most of his adult life being certain about everything until Greg had come along. These days he was certain of almost nothing except the fact that he wanted Greg in his life, even if he came with all this uncertainty.

“Don’t worry, they’ll love you,” Greg assured him. “I’ve never dated anyone who wore proper cufflinks before.”
“You’ve never dated a man before,” Mycroft pointed out.
“Fair enough,” allowed Greg. “But it’ll be fine, I promise.”
Mycroft sighed and braced himself for his first time meeting a significant other’s parents.
