“Do you know what makes me nervous about you?” Eames asked.
Arthur pretended he wasn’t surprised to find Eames lurking in the warehouse. “What?” he asked blandly.
“Your tie is always perfect.”
“And that makes you nervous?”
Eames started walking toward him, slow and predatory. Arthur had to work to hold his ground. “It makes me feel like you don’t like to make mistakes.”
“I don’t,” said Arthur.
Eames drew up next to him, breathed over his mouth. “Sometimes you need the first try. You can always paint over. It’s still something beautiful. Alla prima,” murmured Eames, and kissed him.
