Aww, I'm so glad you're loving it. And yes, to Athena, love is far from being a flaw of her father's. She's grown up wrapped in that love, it's one of the best things in her life. And it's true that she doesn't really have a grasp of loss. The Doctor is terrified, because he knows what it will feel like, terrified in a more concrete way than Athena is.
