I like your use of run-on sentences. It emphasizes the overwhelming nature of events, and the abundance of happiness. (I need metaphors to explain how it's a metaphor!) There are more happy things to tell than can fit in one sentence.
Massive HEE! about the Master giving the band a request! (Although I half-thought he was going to start hitting on Fortuna when they had their conversation a few chapters ago! She *is* blonde, which he likes, and it would make the Doctor apoplectic.)
