I really wanted to get across that, although I don't write often about Jack, the Doctor and Rose are still very close to him and visit him fairly often, enough that they have a nice, easy, teasing relationship with him.
And yes, Sylvain is kind of the reverse of Fortuna, the child of a mother taken out-of-time who didn't thrive on the experience but wilted.
