I was never the caliber of musician depicted in Steinway, but I thought it rang true. I remember thinking part way through an early section that the author knew what she was writing. And, it introduced me to some music I had not encountered before because vocal classical music was never all that interesting to me. Now I have a couple of different piano versions of Erlkonig in my collection and I know who Fischer Dieskau is. I never apologize for my indulgences in fan fiction because I frequently learn something along the way.
BTW, I hope that somewhere before 31 chapters are up that you will gift us with an Oliver vignette here or there. That's a long time to go cold-turkey on N&N. ;-)
