A Good Day
Oct. 22nd, 2007 09:32 pmWe celebrated at Fenway and didn't get arrested.
My laptop actually got delivered.
I had a normal, calm day at work and left at a reasonable hour.
Some deeper thoughts:

Some deeper thoughts:
I am loving Jens Lekman's new album, so I'm hoping that the concert Monday won't conflict with the World Series. Why must everything happen at once?
Yankee fans are so strange. One of them was just telling me how she thinks getting rid of Torre will be a good thing because the Yankees need a shake-up, they haven't won the World Series in seven years. In what universe is a seven-year drought unacceptable? Only in Yankeeland. The disbelief last night that we were in the World Series again was being exclaimed everywhere, and was genuine. No sense of entitlement there. We remain astonished that we ever win. I flat-out told her that I think Yankee fans don't appreciate what Torre managed to do with a bunch of prima-donna personalities. This offseason should be quite interesting.
I love that moment when you turn a song up really loud and realize it's brilliant. Right now it's this one.
And the "Viva Laughlin" cancellation: The show was bad, but I hope it doesn't deter people from watching the original, which has better acting, better songs, and better characters, including a better, sexier Peter Carlisle played by the actual David Tennant instead of a man doing a poor David Tennant impression, and who gets more complex the more times I read "The Way of Things" (
jlrpuckshout-out!).
Finally, Jonathan Papelbon's dance: bad tape of the NESN version, and a version live from Fenway. I love this team. How can you root for anyone else?
