earlgreytea68: (Sherlock Christmas)
Sherlock used music like a second language. No, like a primary language. Like the only way he could express himself. At times the music would just bubble out of him. Early on, John witnessed it in strident chords of frustration at Mycroft; in mournful, melancholy melodies when the key to a case was eluding him; in long, drawn-out, meandering tunes when he was deep in thought. But after, the music was different. Quick, bright notes greeting John in the morning; lush, adoring notes at night. It was all the things Sherlock didn’t know how to say. And John loved it.
