We went to Wagamama for dinner. Wagamama is my new obsession. I love Wagamama. I love it less now, because I ordered a glass of pinot grigiot and, naturally, they were out, so I had to settle for sauvignon blanc. I must say, it's nice to be such a wee, little person, because I have the capacity, especially on an empty stomach, to get quite giddily drunk off a single glass of wine.
Not enough for the accent to come out, I don't think, but  [personal profile] jlrpuckand  [profile] arctacudawould know that better than I. I didn't think I was that drunk until I heard myself tell  [personal profile] jlrpuckthat wearing my new Uggs was akin to walking on a cloud (but it's true!). I'm sure [personal profile] jlrpuck's friend thinks I'm absolutely insane. But she would be correct in thinking so. And then also I may have insulted [profile] arctacuda's very cool title, because I apparently insult  [profile] arctacudawhen I drink, it's what I do. But it's very neat that she is a baroness of Sealand, and I totally want to be one, too, and I am sorry that I thought Sealand was just a low-rent Sea World and that being a baroness of it means you can see special private killer whale shows or something. (For those like me, Sealand is apparently a real country! [Except not quite. Wikipedia never lies.]) And then I think, at the end of the meal,  [personal profile] jlrpuckpaid with doubloons. I must have imagined that part, right? A drunken hallucination, you would think. But there were two heavy coins on the table, and I said, "What are those?" in the disapproving voice I apparently adopt toward everything when I ingest alcohol, and  [personal profile] jlrpuckanswered, in all seriousness, "They're doubloons." I didn't even know the United States of America made doubloons as a form of currency. I was like, "Did you get those from a shipwreck?"

Anyway,  [profile] arctacudais a totally awesome baroness, and very cool, because I made her sit with me while I drank a hot chocolate and tried to sober up enough to drive myself home. This meant  [profile] arctacudawas very late for a party she was going to. I loved when I said, "I'd offer to drive you, but I really think I shouldn't drive anywhere but home," and she was like, "Yeah, I agree with that." I believe I alarm  [profile] arctacudawith my alcoholic tendencies.

Anyway, I really did think I was sober when I was driving home. I certainly felt quite sober. But then I settled down to watch "Torchwood" on BBC America and, like, it was good. I mean, I genuinely laughed THREE TIMES. When did they decide to make Ianto witty? Best idea ever! It may be the wine talking, but this show might actually be decent.

Oh, c'mon--you *know* you're really jealous of those doubloons. ;)

Also? On the drive back to CT, Mel couldn't stop saying "Your friends are hysterical."

Heh. I'm glad she thought we were hysterical and not annoying.

And they're...*doubloons.*
