Fanmade trailer for S4 of "Sherlock," which, yes, we know absolutely nothing about at this moment, but this trailer nails *everything* I want an S4 trailer to be and gives me hope that S4, if done right (please God, let them do it right) could be, like, astonishingly awesome, seriously.

Sorry, but I don't really like the vid much because like season 3 it doesn't focus on what Sherlock is for me, John and Sherlock working together. I was going through the screencaps of season 3 and realized that the shots of John and Sherlock together were minimal in comparison to earlier seasons.

That's the Fix I want. I want Mary gone, so they can focus on working as a team again. I don't want any more of this dark Mary and/or Moriarty stuff. If I never see Irene again, it'll be too soon as well.

I want more Sherlock and John with a much bigger dose of Lestrade. Get back to what worked, not this whatever it is that happened in season 3. It still unsettles me to watch season 3, because while it gave us a lot of background, it also wasted so many opportunities. Not to mention, I still can't believe that John is the most forgiving man in England and would take her back after shooting his best friend. I just don't get how the writers and others believe that Mary's the "female" perspective for the show and to want her gone is misogynistic. To me wanting her gone is just wanting your show back before it got derailed into something I don't really recognize as Sherlock.

I really liked this trailer because to me, it was getting back to what I liked the most about the series, which was John and Sherlock working together on a real case. I missed that in series 3. In this fan trailer, I don't see Mary as a love interest any more; she is either an adversary or a client, or possibly an ally (of John and Sherlock). This really gave me the feeling of them being a team again. True, there aren't that many shots in this trailer of the two of them together, but that was the impression I had. That they were the only ones who could trust each other, and that together, they can take on the world. I would like to see that. :)

While I agree that I want to see John and Sherlock working together more, that's not what I got from the trailer. It was more of just Sherlock with shots of Mary, Moriarty, and Irene. That's what I don't want. That's why I didn't like the so-called trailer.

I had to watch it again (not a hardship lol) and you're right, it's a lot more Sherlock-centric. I guess I am just interpreting that John is alongside him tracking down Moriarty etc. I still thought it was pretty exciting. :)

With Sherlock, I'm not taking anything for granted anymore. They've just gone off the rails and so If I don't see the pair working together, it's because they're not. Show me what they're up to, side by side, working to solve the cases. That's what I'm hoping for in series 4.

Unfortunately, I'm not faithful in them doing the right thing anymore. They love Mary and I think we might be stuck with her for too long and 4 will be ruined like 3.

I think Mary ruined the show, too, which was why I was happy that this trailer seemed to relegate her to...something else. Not JOHN'S ANGELIC WIFE. Like, there were no clips of a baby in Baker Street, and that made me very happy.

And what I *did* like about the season was that, although John and Sherlock weren't together all that frequently, when they were together, God, how Sherlock *looked* at him. In every. Single. Shot. Sherlock Holmes looks at John Watson in a way that breaks your heart. This season, I like to think, was all about establishing *in canon* that Sherlock Holmes is pining for John, is basically dying of unrequited love for him. And that puts him in a dark, vulnerable, and dangerous place, because he has both everything and nothing to lose all at once. And I thought the trailer captured that beautifully. Sherlock *is* alone in S3--the number of shots of him walking off alone, the John-shaped space by his side empty, is heartbreaking--and I'm hoping S4 will be about how he gets John back.

I think we're both wishing for the same thing. The problem with the trailer for me is that it still focused way too much on Mary. I want her gone, the whole debacle just a bad memory. I want the men working together again.

And I agree. It was painful to watch Sherlock pining over John. We saw John looking that way in seasons 1 and 2 and now finally Sherlock understood. Unfortunately, that damn fall and Mary got in the way of any kind of happy ending. I don't need to see them snogging or even being romantic, but I want them friends, flat mates, and a solid working team with some reasonable cases to work.

Let me start by saying, I've loved Lorde's cover of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" since I first heard it back in November.

That was fantastic. I also liked the inclusion of Ben Whishaw as "the other one."

AH. That's the famous Lorde version of Everybody Wants to Rule the World. What a haunting interpretation. It's as far from a house-full-of-popcorn-at-the-end-of-Real-Genius one can possibly get.

The vid itself--yes, it's more of what I want. Much more. Except I want 127% more John/Sherlock TOGETHER on my screen. I don't even mean romantically. This series we barely got a brotp, with the notable exception of Drunken Stag Night.
