“It needs a lot of work,” said John dubiously. The cottage looked like a good hard gale would blow it over.

“It’s fine,” Sherlock said, waving his hand dismissively toward the non-functioning kitchen and leaky roof and alarmingly sloping floors.

Because Sherlock was too busy being bewitched by the perfectly maintained beehives incongruously located in the back garden.

Sherlock was in love, thought John. He was fortunate enough to know that look.

John sighed and said, “I suppose I’ll be taking up carpentry in my old age, then.”

Sherlock said, “And I’ll make you tea with honey whilst you work.”
