Aug. 22nd, 2015 10:50 pmI just came back from a week in Iceland and London, where I saw Benedict Cumberbatch's "Hamlet." So I have, as you could imagine, a lot to say, but instead I'm killing time with this meme I stole from
kaydeefalls.
I currently have 78 works archived at the AO3. Pick a number from 1 (the most recent) to 78 (the first thing I posted there), and I'll tell you three things I currently like about it.

Date: 2015-08-23 01:34 pm (UTC)Ha, 4 is "Next Big Thing."
Three things I like about it:
(1) The dialogue. It has possibly my favorite banter I've ever written.
(2) That very little actually *happens* in it, other than huge disgusting amounts of constant fluff.
(3) All of the designs. I have never thought of myself as a designer but it was really fun designing all the rooms.

Date: 2015-08-23 01:30 pm (UTC)Three things I like about it:
(1) The entire conceit that Sherlock writes "RPF" about him and John. Once I got that idea, I just had to write a fic about it.
(2) The fact that Sherlock has such a hard time imagining the happy ending to the story. It breaks my heart.
(3) The accidental posting of the draft. Because this happens to me when I use technology all the time, so it seemed like a natural way to move the story along.

Date: 2015-08-23 07:33 am (UTC)Oh, and would love to hear your verdict about Hamlet. I'm going to watch the play in October.
I haven't been to Iceland but it must be beautiful. Hope you had a great time there!

Date: 2015-08-23 01:26 pm (UTC)54 is "The Adventure of the Woolly Mammoth."
Three things I like about it:
(1) The title. I have a love/hate relationship with titles. This one I intended to be an old-fashioned ACD mystery, hence the title. It went in a completely different direction but I kept the title because I liked how every mystery is theoretically about the mystery but really about the emotional revelations that come out of the mystery. This *is* The Adventure of the Woolly Mammoth because it's sparked by the idea of the woolly mammoth.
(2) The fact that there is a bona fide healthy-ish discussion about the aftermath of Reichenbach. I think it was necessary and it's really what allows these two to move forward in this 'verse so well. This was what S3 needed.
(3) Mycroft's role. I love the Mycroft and Sherlock relationship in this 'verse anyway, but I really love how much you see that Mycroft loves and trusts and respects Sherlock and his abilities.

Date: 2015-08-23 01:19 pm (UTC)Three things I like about it:
(1) Roger Williams as a character. The story about Roger Williams's grave containing nothing but an apple tree branch is entirely true and it sparked the idea that surely that means Roger Williams is a wizard.
(2) The yoga bits. I was taking a lot of yoga when I started writing this story and I like how they've been woven into it.
(3) Merrow's rainbow-colored hair. I desperately want rainbow-colored hair.

Date: 2015-08-23 06:23 pm (UTC)2) I was wondering about the yoga - hee!
3) You n me both. But I'm not sure I could pull it off. ;) The character in my original fic has rainbow-colored hair (for a while) so I started laughing when I read this the first time.

Date: 2015-08-23 01:37 pm (UTC)41 is indeed "The Radovljica Apicultural Museum."
Three things I like about it:
(1) It was my first try at writing an older Oliver, and I like how he turned out. He feels realistically like a little boy who had been raised by Sherlock and John.
(2) The relationship between Sherlock and Oliver. I like how sort of casually affectionate they are with each other. Like, they are just so assured of each other's love, and it's lovely.
(3) Sherlock's behavior in this fic. I love his kneejerk reaction against Oliver's request, his fretful worry, his going to Mycroft for help immediately because it's Oliver.

Date: 2015-08-23 09:03 pm (UTC)Three things I like about this fic:
(1) The interaction between Colin and Greg about Greg needing a new shirt. It was the moment when Colin really clicked for me as a character and I grew to love him.
(2) Writing Molly in the aftermath of Reichenbach, assuming she knew everything that Greg didn't know and giving just enough information to let the reader know about that while Greg remained in the dark.
(3) The idea that Mycroft can read everything Greg is going on his computer. And that Greg just goes with it, because, you know, it's Mycroft, what can you do?

Date: 2015-08-23 09:07 pm (UTC)(1) I think the Mycroft in this fic is my favorite Mycroft of all the fics I've written. I loved writing him at this age, and I loved how this story, in the end, turned out to be his just as much as it was Sherlock's.
(2) John and Sherlock's first time up against the wall. That was not what I had been planning for this fic, but it happened and I went with it and it's one of my favorite get-together moments for them.
(3) Just everything about Young Sherlock. I frequently think that this fic is why I remain so protective of him: because I was in his head when he was very wee.

Date: 2015-08-24 02:17 am (UTC)#24 is "Of Mice and Mutant Demon Creatures."
Three things I like about this fic:
(1) "Weird, boneless bones."
(2) Eames knowing that the best way to manipulate Arthur is to bring up his wardrobe.
(3) Eames cheating against himself at poker.
