“He’s thinking of what?” Arthur says blankly.
“Retiring,” his mother replies cheerfully. “We’re thinking of going on a bunch of really long cruises.”
“Oh,” Arthur croaks, because he doesn’t know what to say.
He finds Eames later. “My mom says Saito wants to retire.”
“Retire…how?” says Eames.
“Like, from work.”
Eames cocks his head. “Do dragons retire? I never thought about that before.”
“He’s not a dragon. But he’s our agent. Is it selfish of me to dread having to get another agent used to you?”
“I don’t know what you mean,” says Eames, “I’m an angel to work with.”
