This weekend, you will all receive the special Halloween fic that Kristin has been pestering me about for a full year.

And then, after that, I am doing NaNoWriMo, because I figure I'm not overcommitted enough. Just don't tell my job, who would clearly decide I'm not being worked nearly hard enough if I have time to write a novel. (Today, if you hadn't guessed, was not a good day at work.)

Anyway, I'm actually very excited about doing NaNo! And, if you like, here is my profile.

The reason for this post is to warn all of you that there will be no new fic during the month of November. This is to protect my sanity, basically, which is in need of quite a bit of protection, I think you would all agree. If I owe you a Support Stacie prompt, you will receive it promptly come December.

There are four weekends during the month of November. I propose this: Four commentaries, one for each weekend. And how will I decide which fics to commentary. The four fics below with the most requests will be the four fics that get a commentary. If there is a tie (for instance, if there are 7 fics each with one vote), then the fics with the earliest comments will be commentaries (so, the fics in the first four comments to this entry). If you would like to know which fics I have already commentaried (is that a word?), go here (there are a lot). Finally, as always, please pick one part of a multi-part fic. I will commentary more than one part of a multi-part fic, but each part has to be independently one of the four most popular.

Does all of this make sense? Questions? Let me know! And request/vote away below!

Heh. I'll admit I don't really know what that means. But okay!

You are one busy lady. Honestly! My NaNoWriMo experience will be writing papers... >_> But good luck with everything! I don't need a commentary, your November will be busier than mine.

I am so busy, I don't even know what the word means anymore... But I am looking forward to NaNo!

I've signed up for NaNo for the third time. I'm hoping this one is the charm. Good luck to you!

Wow. You are a brave woman! I admire you for doing this. I seriously considered signing up for Nano, but given the rapid rate in which my Support Stacie fic is multiplying, not to mention the enormity of my original fic for the editrx project (which is due in two weeks eep!), and also report cards due at the end of November. To attempt it would be insane. If I'd been thinking ahead I could have done my SSA story as a nano project, but I'm already over 10,000 words in so I think that's against the rules. I want this story finished by the end of November if I can though so I'll be writing as though I were doing Nano.

Anyway, good luck to you. Your novel premise sounds really good, and if nothing else I'm sure it will be highly therapeutic! If you need a cheerleader I'll be here with my pompoms on. (And that collection of pictures we discussed will also be on standby! :) )

Oh, and my commentary vote is for Chapter 23 of the original Chaosverse.

Chapter 23! Got it!

And now you are signed up for NaNo, so clearly the insanity is catching!

I am very much looking forward to getting it all out. I write myself long e-mails frequently, describing my mental state so I won't forget exactly what it all feels out. I think it will be useful to finally get to tell everyone what I think of them. Through fiction.

LOL yes the insanity IS catching... Since I signed up TWO more of my friends (both of my betas actually) signed up too. And my writing partner from the Harry Potter fandom had already signed up so I'd already been thinking about it. It wasn't until I realized I could do it without taking on a new project that I leapt. A new project would kill me right now.

Fiction is a wonderful tool for spouting truth indirectly. What a great idea to email yourself with descriptions of how it feels - you'll have lots of real material to draw on without needing to remember things from months ago (I have a horrible memory so I do this kind of thing too - though I often just use a google doc these days). I'm interested to see how your story turns out. Maybe it will help you write your way out!

Wow, brave soul. Best of luck to you!

The most I can commit to is this every Nov. (And my flist is so glad when it's over. ;-) )

If you're doing NaNo, I think I'll have to as well. I've got even less of an excuse not to give it a try.

lol - Writing is normally very easy for me. I therefore anticipate that having to do it on cue will make me freak out.

Good luck with Nano. Might I ask if it'll be fanfic or original you'll be writing?

And speaking of Chaos, I'm so looking forward to reading all the stories in the series you've posted since I had time to read fic! My 'to-read' bookmarks folder is stuffed with links to your updates and it's making me all happy. :)

It's original. Don't really need an incentive to write tons of fanfiction. ;-)

Have fun with the stories!

I'm taking on NaNoWriMo too! Will yours be fic?

I considered doing fic, but then I thought it would be nice to do some OF for a change.

http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/532732 (I fail at neat links lol) is my profile :)

I fail at neat links in comments, too!

And mine is OF. I don't really need the gimmicky-type thing to write fic, I think it's clear. ;-)

I've been so back and forth about NaNo this year. I made it to 50,000 words last year, but didn't finish my story because I hated it by about half-way through. It was so awful, I deleted it after I sent it to the word counter. But this year...I'm having the most awful writer's block - I've still got two fics that I was supposed to finish way back in September ....but ooh, I really want to do NaNo...

Good luck with your NaNo!!

I've signed up for NaNo, but I think WriSoMiFu is a better fit for me, since that 50k is intimidating. WriSo only wants you to write something for at least 10 min a day, and it doesn't have to be a 'novel', since what I'm going to write won't fit into that kind of mold...plus it's gonna be fanfic.

Good luck with your endeavors!!

Ooh, the 10 minutes a day thing sounds interesting! Back when I kept an old-fashioned journal, I used to make myself write a page and a half every day. It was really useful!

What does WriSoMiFu stand for?

Write Something (you) Miserable Fu** . wrisomifu (it's on lj somewhere) you have to ask to be given an invitation, and I think today (Sat) is the last day you can sign up.
