Do the links I posted last night work? There are also Kindle (mobi) files that [livejournal.com profile] lorelaisquared so graciously made, but suddenly, by the cold light of day, I cannot figure out how to upload them to MegaUpload as a single file. Maybe it's a temporary MegaUpload blip, I'll try again in a bit. But I wanted to make sure that last nght's links are working for people.

There seems to be interest in a Chaos-y book club. I'm thinking three fics or three chapters a week, depending on where we are. I'm also thinking of going chronologically, so I can see how it all flows together, considering that I wrote them all out of order and admittedly without having much of a plan.

That means that later today I'll be posting some thoughts and possible discussion points (I feel all teacher-y!!) on If You Were a Tree, What Kind of Tree Would You Be?, The Day After You Kiss Rose Tyler, and The Natural Progression of Things

(Also, I have, at various times, been pestered/encouraged to put my fic up on an external archive that's not LJ. The primary recommendation has, I think, been AO3, but it looks like there's a waiting list for that? I admit I don't know anything about stuff like this or how I would go about doing it, but if I'm going to be re-reading all my fic anyway, I could do it as I went along, if someone wishes to PM me information about how I would do it. I'm willing to poke around a bit, but I am alarmingly terrible at understanding things related to technology. Seriously. I'm clueless. Trust me.)

I've got the first file from the epub link you put up loaded into my iBook app right now to read on the bus when I head out to my writing group in a minute. You have tables of contents! That is helpful.

As for AO3, you need an invite; I don't have one at the moment, but I'd be happy to request one for you if no one else has one. Beyond that, it's pretty easy putting the stuff up, and I'd be happy to wal you through it if you needed it.

Oh, yay! I'm so glad it works!

And I think someone had an invite code, so I can use that. I'm already confused by this system!

AO3 is pretty user friendly; I'm a technology moron, and I use it quite a bit. I have an invite code if you want one. ;)

Well, I am going to take your word for it! It will all be on your head! ;-) Sure, I'll take the invite code.

I recently signed up for AO3 myself. I haven't had a chance to put anything up there yet but it looks pretty easy to use. I've requested an invite code so if I get it then I can get you in easily enough. It's probably a good idea.

I'm on there already. Want me to invite you?

It's the one that's been most recommended to me, so I'm going to give it a try.

Great! PM me the email you want for the invite, and I'll get one out to you.

I'm glad [livejournal.com profile] lorelaisquared is doing it, because I kept meaning to Kindleize the books and never got around to it.

Do you have a PC or a Mac? If you have a Mac, it's wicked easy. Put all the files into a folder, right click on the folder and select "compress." Voila, you have a zip archive. Then you upload the archive.

AO3 is suppose to be a good place, though my work personally hasn't gotten a lot of hits there and I always . The Pit (aka Fanfiction.net) is still the most popular site out there, and they make it easy for folks who aren't used to uploading their stuff. If you do want AO3, I can invite you since I'm a member already.

I have a PC, alas. Also, I don't really have files, per se, I just have the LJ entries. But I figure if I do a little bit at a time, it won't be *so* bad.

I could try fanfiction.net, althought I've never been a huge fan of it. I just wanted to archive it in case something happens to LJ, so AO3 should work.

I figured out how to put the ePub books on my iPad. Yay!
(so now I have the chaosverse, all the Sherlock Holmes books, and The Lost Prince by Francis Hodgson Burnett. You're in good company.)

I'm on AO3 too, but I haven't uploaded anything yet.
